Dear Parents and Students:
The recital will be here before you know it, and there are so many last-minute instructions
for recital, rehearsals, and pictures. Please be sure to read all of the notes and ask any questions you may have.
The picture schedule is done, and a note will go home next week as to your classes’ scheduled times.
The dates are Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June I st. Please be sure to let your teacher know
if you will not be attending the picture date so we are not waiting for you. There is no obligation
to have your individual picture taken, but I would like everyone in the group shot. The schedule will also be posted in the waiting room.
The recital order is posted in the waiting room. Please check it to be sure you have at least
3 numbers in between your dances. I may have made a mistake that can be changed before the program is printed.
Booster notes are ready and have gone out. They are due May 24th, so please be sure to get one
if you did not receive one.
The summer schedule has also gone out. If you haven’t received one, please pick one up.
We are planning a very exciting and challenging program. It’s a great time to challenge yourself and have great fun.
Tickets will go on sale Sunday, June 8th from 9-I at the studio. We have had some issues
about the long line disturbing the other businesses on a Saturday, so I have changed to a Sunday.
There are always plenty of seats available, so please don’t stand in line too early!
The price is $20 for adults and $15 for students. You will have the seating chart in your recital package.
Try to know where you would like to sit before the sale starts.
The trophy and medal list will be posted early in June. All classes must be made up by June 1st.
If you have a question about your medal/trophy, please call me.
The recital package will be ready and out by mid-May. Please be sure to read it so that you are aware of all the procedures.
Everything will go much smoother that way.
The costume charts are in the waiting room downstairs. Please be sure that you have all the appropriate
tights and shoes before picture date. If you have any questions about your costume, please ask.
I am almost done with the schedule for rehearsals the week of the recital. We have no regular classes
that week, just rehearsals at the studio. These rehearsals are very important to the overall smooth running
of dress rehearsal and the recital. Please be patient. The children love these rehearsals because they get to see so many dances.
The Memorial Day flyer/permission slip is also available. If you are interested in marching or dancing,
please fill out the permission slip. We should have a truck to ride on for some of the time.
Miss Cecilia will be in charge of the parade this year. I am trying to prepare a dance with more children this year and
have scheduled rehearsals for Monday, May 12th and Monday May 19th at 4:30 pm at the studio.
You must be available for both rehearsals in order to dance at the viewing station, but not to march.
Mr. Ra-Sean will be having rehearsals for two recital dances. They combine with another class
and need some extra rehearsals. Saturday, May 17th from I 2:301:30, Choo Choo Cha Boogie
will be rehearsing (Wednesday 7:00 class and Thursday 5:00 class). From 1:30-2:30, Walk for Me
will be rehearsing (Tuesday 8:30 class and Thursday 8:00 class). Please make every effort to attend!!
These last weeks of classes are very important to the recital. You will be receiving important
notes and schedules, and the classes are polishing their dances and making changes. Please be sure you attend all of your classes.
Some of the costumes are not in yet, but I do expect them to be in before the picture date.
I am very excited to present the recital and want everyone to have a rewarding experience.
It is important that everyone follow their directions and do their part to help the show run effectively. I need help backstage with the children at dress rehearsal and recital. You must be available both days and have lots of patience. The backstage help is essential in keeping the children calm yet still excited to do their very best. We are dedicated to the safety of your children and want this to be a rewarding day for them. Please consider helping with your child’s class. If you have the time and patience, please let me know.
The Fall schedule is also in the works and will probably be done before June 1st.
If you have any questions about the schedule, please call me. I will be happy to answer your questions.
I hope I have answered any questions, but if you are unsure of something, please don’t hesitate to call me.
I want everything to be calm and run effectively.
Class of the Month is Thursday 5:00 Tap. Mr. Ra-Sean is proud of their improvement and desire to be great dancers.
Keep up the great work. Student of the Month is Tamyra Singletary. I am proud of her enthusiasm and growth.
Great work, Tamyra. Most Improved Student is Kristen Schiavo. I am proud of her determination and desire to be the best. Thanks, Kristen!
I would also like to recognize the girls that helped Kristen with her new dance.
Arianna Correa, Jackie Fletcher, Grace Makowski, and Laura McGovern. They came in early each Friday to help Kristen with the dance. A job well done!
All tuition and costume payments must be paid in full before the recital in order for your child to participate in the recital.
If you have any questions about your tuition or costume payments, please call me.
Thank you for your attention to all the details. It makes the recital and everything involved a pleasant experience. Thank you.
Dancingly,
Miss Helen
PS The order forms for the recital T's are out. If you need one, please ask. You need to fill it out even if you do not want one
so your child's name can go on the t-shirt, or you can let them know if you want the name left out of the t-shirt.
